JV and Varsity volleyball teams
Volleyball is a time-honored, exciting sport for girls at LCS. We offer both JV and Varsity volleyball teams, so girls with any level of ability will find a place on one of the teams. Volleyball has both physical and mental benefits, from building upper body strength, agility, and hand-eye coordination to learning the value of a team and becoming a leader. Volleyball encourages social skills, a healthy dose a competition, and respect for other players.
Head Coach: Tonya Davis
Tonya Davis is a graduate of Lighthouse Christian School, class of 1996. Tonya and her husband, Ryan, Youth Pastor at Lighthouse Church. It has been a dream of Tonya’s to coach volleyball for several years.
In her own words: “Volleyball is more than just coaching a sport. It’s is a ministry in itself. Some of these kids don't have a positive influence active in their lives and I strive to be that for these girls. Watching them improve their skills and work as a team-based on biblical principles is what I enjoy most.”
Assistant Coach: Meagan Tedder
Meagan Tedder is also a graduate of Lighthouse Christian School where she teaches at the Upper Level. Meagan has been a lifelong lover of volleyball and played during her middle and high school years. Meagan believes playing team sports fosters a sense of unity among the girls and she wants to be a part of that.
“I enjoy helping the younger girls find a passion for the sport by learning the basics and how to play as a team.”
