Our chapel services have been wonderful this year and the students have really stepped it up a notch! Our worship team, led by Levi Foster, has blessed us with wonderful songs and videos. Levi is responsible for putting together the music program each week. We are blessed to have this senior, who has a wonderful voice, lead us in worship! LCS alumni Andy Bryant, Brian Adams and Seth Crawford come and speak to our students and we were so blessed by the messages each brought to us. We are looking forward to our upcoming Christmas Chapel program, which will feature acts and songs from each class!
The students and staff at LCS have been busy bees the past few weeks! Our PTSO threw an awesome Fall Festival and raised enough money for new LED lights in the gym and new desks for our English and Math classes! The students had a blast working games like Skee Ball and Plinko. We had a silent auction, cake walks and delicious food from our concession team. Nothing says Fall more than a steamy bowl of chili! We had vendors like Wilkins Woodwork, Thirty One, Creative Memories, En Pointe Salsa, Glowbug and more! Lots of early Christmas shopping happened 🙂 The King and Queen contest was a huge success and we are so proud of our little ones for raising over $1000! This is one of our favorite events here at LCS and we enjoy spending time in fellowship with our students, their families and our community! We can’t wait until next year!
Our girl’s varsity volleyball team took home 2nd place in WCCS Invitational Tournament over the weekend! LCS played like champs and lost the championship game by only 3 points. We are so proud of how far these girls have come this year and their display of teamwork and leadership. Congratulations to Audrey Boggs on winning the All Tournament award for Lighthouse! The girls celebrated with dinner at the Woodbooger Grill in Northon, VA (yes, it is booger 🙂 The following Tuesday, October 8th, the last volleyball game of the season was played and the girls fought hard and won in 4 sets to a standing ovation by the LCS crowd. Here a few of our favorite highlights from this week!

We watched an exciting video version of David and Goliath. This week, we were blessed to have a few of our students as special singers! We love student involvement, no matter what age.
Lots of awesome things going on at LCS right now! Support our school by helping with our current fundraisers.
Sis. Susie’s class is selling Krispy Kreme donut certificates for $8.00 each! The yummy, flaky deliciousness of Krispy Kreme cannot be beat and for this reduced price for an entire glazed dozen, how can you stop at just one?
Sis. Meagan’s high school class has started their semi-annual canned food drive to help the homeless in our community. We work with Hunger First food pantry who distributes food to those most in need, right here in Kingsport. Our high school is committed to helping alleviate the hunger and homelessness in our hometown, so please donate to this wonderful cause! We can take all non-perishable items as well as paper products, sanitary and baby items. Psalms 41:1 says, “Blessed is he who considers the poor; The Lord will deliver him in time of trouble.”
The LCS PTSO is hosting our annual Fall Festival on October 12th from 11 am to 2 pm. Come out for a fun filled morning complete with games, a cake walk, silent auction, multiple vendors and amazing lunch fare!
We kicked off our weekly chapel services on Wednesday, September 11th! We were blessed to hear awesome testimonies from each one of our students and staff members. That is over 50 people! The Lord has been doing wonderful works this summer and we are expecting a year full of increase and blessing as we continue to follow the path God laid out to Bishop G.D. Peters 35 years ago. We look forward to sharing more of our special chapel services with you. Parents and family members are welcome to attend! Call the office for details!
We started off this year with our annual prayer circle led by by our Administrator, David Crawford and Principal, David Peters. We had a wonderful turnout among parents to pray for and support their children. We are so thankful to have this time of fellowship each year before classes begin. If you aren’t enrolled yet, you need to apply! We are filling up fast and currently only have spots available in 6th-12th grades. We wish all our students and staff an amazing and blessed school year!
Lighthouse Christian School is proud to announce some awesome improvements we made over the summer. Thanks to a generous anonymous donor, we were able to put an air conditioning system in our gymnasium! This is also a heating unit, so we were double blessed. Our Kindergarten and 1st grade class outgrew their original classroom so Bro. Andy Bryant added a beautiful new addition and almost doubled the space! The boys and girls locker rooms both received a face lift with new paint, shower curtains, rugs and decor! We sincerely appreciate everyone who contributed to these projects and cannot wait to share them with our students and their families!
